Code doesn’t allow this.

The BC building code does not allow for buildings that do not conform with specified building techniques. There are very specific assemblies and construction methods outlined within the building code, but none of them allow for earth and walls that do not have an understood insulation rating and moisture permeability. There is a section in the code that allows for an application for alternate solutions to the environmental separation requirement, but the process is quite onerous .
